Omni-Directional Projection VR Systems Using Ultra-Short Throw Lenses

Abstract

We have developed a novel ultra-short throw lens with catadioptric relay which can project a large image on curved screens with remarkably uniform brightness and pixel size distribution. This wide projection enables a compact omni-directional projection VR system with only eight projectors as well as a cylindrical screen VR system.
