Key points in research and development of dynamic spectrum access technology as seen from examples of social implementation abroad
Abstract
We present the key points in research and development that will become vital when the concept of dynamic spectrum access is discussed in Japan. We introduce examples of legislative amendment, standardization, system and device certification, and social implementation abroad concerning dynamic spectrum access technology, from the TV band white spaces system in the U.S. and Europe to the Citizens Broadband Radio Services (CBRS) system that has been put into operation since 2019 using 4G LTE public mobile networks as well as local and private 4G networks.
